Edgar’s Parents

Edgar allan Poe’s parents were David Poe Jr. and Eliza Poe. They were married for five years from 1806 to 1811 and then died in the same year 1811.

Adoption

Edgar Allan Poe’s parents divorced and then later died

so a family named the John’s took Poe in to raise him.

Edgar Allan Poe had been contemplating suicide after his wife’s death. He was set to go to New York city one afternoon and got onto a wrong train and went to Baltimore, Maryland. He was found half conscious in Baltimore and rushed to the hospital where he later died.

Edgar Allan Poe died in Baltimore, Maryland in 1849 when he was at the young age of 40 years old.
